Noise-Jazz band The Molecules had a “reunion tour in April at Hemlock Tavern That I was lucky enough to attend. Really, Ron Anderson, lately of PAK, was just stopping off for a day in the city on his way to tour dates in Japan. The Molecules, I’m learning in retrospect, were a local act from Oakland from 1990 to 1997. This show was intense, like jazz played by Slayer, I could feel my ribs vibrating and I think I ay even have creamed myself a little bit. These guys did stuff with their guitar and bass I didn’t know were possible. Did Ron Anderson possess two arms or four? It was hard to tell after my tenth beer. Definitely the best show I’ve seen all year (or last year for that matter). Get ready, cuz apparently they’re back together for a West Coast tour starting in February 2007!
